One has to first reach the town of Gaurikund, which is the last motorable point, and from there, the Kedarnath Temple can be reached by trekking for around 14 kilometres (8.7 miles) or by hiring a pony or a palanquin. The total time taken to reach Kedarnath Temple from Rishikesh can vary depending on the mode of transport and the weather conditions.

RISHIKESH TO GAURIKUND DISTANCE

The distance between Rishikesh and Gaurikund is approximately 212 kilometres (131.7 miles) by road. However, the actual distance can vary depending on the route taken and the mode of transport used. The Rishikesh to Gaurikund involves travelling through the towns of Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Guptkashi. It usually takes around 8-9 hours to reach Gaurikund from Rishikesh by road, depending on the traffic and weather conditions. From Gaurikund, one has to trek for around 14 kilometres (8.7 miles) or take a pony or palanquin to reach the Kedarnath Temple.

Itinerary and Brief Description

Day 01: Haridwar – Guptkashi

Welcome to Kedarnath Dham Yatra. In the early morning, Move to Rishikesh, Laxmanjhulla Local Sight Seeing. And then we will drive towards to Guptkashi, and rest for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Guptakashi – Kedarnath

Morning drive to Sonprayag, Then trek starts from Sonprayag to Kedarnath (3584m) on foot or by pony/doli. Members of the Yatra should carry personal medicines, heavy woollens, toiletries, and clothes for an overnight stay at Guptkashi. After reaching Kedarnath we will do a Check-in hotel. Later we will visit Kedarnath Temple and rest at night's rest.

Day 03: Kedarnath – Guptkashi

You wake up early in the morning and after taking a bath, you are at the temple by 4:45 am for ‘Abhishek’ to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside the sanctum sanctorum and touch the idol. You can also bow down by touching your head to the deity etc. After darshan and puja, you come out of the temple and return to Camp/Lodge. Later you will start the 20 km return journey from Kedarnath to Guptkashi. Vehicles wait for you at the Guptkashi car park and you will drive to your hotel. Overnight and dinner at Guptkashi.

Day 04: Guptakashi - Haridwar

Early morning, after breakfast, you drive to a spiritual city and downhill. On reaching Rishikesh you will proceed with Rishikesh sightseeing Ram Jhula and LaxmanJhula. And night stay in one of the best hotels in Haridwar. After that our services come to an end.
